Mobile applications website Appmodo (www.appmodo.com) announces new online forum that provides unique opportunities for application developers to become showcased on website as well as receive additional online exposure.
San Diego, CA, January 21, 2010 — After achieving much success in 2009, mobile applications website Appmodo (www.appmodo.com) has announced the launch of a new online forum that provides unique opportunities for application developers to become showcased on the website and offers several different branding techniques for developers to receive additional online exposure.
The new online forum, which can be found at (www.appmodo.com/forum), is optimized for multiple mobile devices including the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, Google Android OS, Palm Pre, and BlackBerry platforms, and includes several social networking features such as commenting, adding friends, defining OpenFeint and Plus+ network ID’s, and more.
“While there are several large forums related to iPhone applications on the internet already, a common complaint I hear from developers is the lack of attention and promotion they receive within these large communities and how they are not optimized for mobile phones.” said Jason Coe, Editor of Appmodo.com.
After receiving much feedback from developers across the mobile applications industry, Appmodo launched the forum as a portal for developers to gain additional attention in an overcrowded applications market. The website allows developers to create individual accounts where their post color is altered to increase brand awareness within the forum, and to help draw attention to any contributions made by the developer. “The Appmodo forum allows mobile game publishers and developers to have a platform on which to connect, interact and discuss the latest and greatest in our industry. We fully expect to utilize the forum and its engaged participants as a soundboard moving forward.” said Stephanie Casey of mobile gaming company, Reaxion.
“We have set up the forum as an open portal made by enthusiasts for enthusiasts to exchange thoughts and ideas with people who are building apps of tomorrow.” said Mary Ann Neder, a leading Contributor of Appmodo. In addition to other features, Appmodo is offering a “Developer of the Week” spotlight where one developer will be chosen on a weekly basis to be highlighted in the forum and granted a free advertisement spot as part of the selection.
“I have worked closely with Appmodo’s editorial team since the site launched and am excited about the new expansion,” explains Carmen Pearson, independent PR consultant for iPhone game developers/publishers. “Appmodo’s detailed, professional coverage is as a great resource for anyone following the mobile industry.”
Coe continued, “We hope that our new forum will allow developers to receive the attention they deserve and not get caught in a dense sea of communication and as Bolt Creative’s own Dave Castelnuovo said about our site last year, ‘Appmodo is the Iron Chef of all app review sites’ and I hope to continue that with the launch of our forum”.
Appmodo has been recognized for consistent, top notch mobile applications coverage by several large media outlets including CNET, Wired, MacLife, PC World, BoingBoing Gadgets, MobileCrunch, Gizmodo, TUAW, and more.
